First a big thank you to the Ubuntu community for DONATING their time to put together such a fine Operating System. If you want to learn more about Ubuntu you can go to the following web site..
Finally after six months of waiting I get a chance to check out the latest Ubuntu offering. The question now is, was it a wait that was worth waiting for or does this new version of Ubuntu disappoint? Lets open up the hood and have a look in side and see what this newest version of Ubuntu has to offer..

A few years ago I remember taking a look at PCLinuxOS and then after using it for a bit I decided to try a few other distributions out. Now several years later I recently decided I would take a new look at it after seeing a lot of comments about it on forums that were saying in a codec point of view it was way better then Ubuntu...

Upgrading from Edgy Eft to Feisty Fawn.

First a big thank you to the Ubuntu community for DONATING their time to put together such a fine Operating System. If you want to learn more about Ubuntu you can go to the following web site..
After being busy with other stuff and not having much time to play with my Ubuntu install I decided I would fire up Edgy Eft and see what software had updates that needed to be installed. After loading the update manager up I could see there were about 100 updates and so I figured I would update all the software. After doing this update I did a reboot and the computer was working fine and I loaded the update manager up again and I seen the button on the side of the update manager that if I clicked it I would be able to upgrade to the latest version of Ubuntu and that would be Feisty Fawn. The big question is how much stuff will get screwed up if I hit the upgrade button?

Why no Linux TV ads??
Posted by WolfManz611 on Tuesday, March 20 2007
You know tonight I was sitting here watching TV and I was wondering, why is it I never see any Ads on TV for Linux or any of the popular distributions? The only ad I ever remember seeing was an IBM ad, I think that had something to do with Linux, and that was selling IBM's servers or something.

Ubuntu and TeamSpeak 2

In the last week or so I made a move from Kubuntu over to Ubuntu. I did this because I was going to give XGL/Compiz a try. I had read that trying to get XGL/Compiz working on Ubuntu was easier then try to get XGL/Compiz working on KDE/Kubuntu.

Linux vs Windows Again.

While doing the first article on Kubuntu I had some readers give feedback, and one of those readers suggested in my Review of Kubuntu I should have mentioned how much better it was then windows in terms of security and stability. So I figured I would take some time here and type up what I have seen since using both operating systems.

Old Timers and First Timers.

I think one of the most interesting times I have had using Kubuntu is watching in the Kubuntu chat channel how people respond to new users using Kubuntu. Countless times I have seen new users come into the chat room and ask why they can't play media files, and usually the first thing I see is someone telling them to go into console and type up loads of commands in order to get the required codecs installed.

First a big thank you to the folks over at Kubuntu for putting their time and effort into this latest release.
Finally after waiting a while for this latest release of Kubuntu I got around to installing it on one of my computers. The following article wont really be a Review of Kubuntu 6.06 but instead will be my thoughts as a windows user using Kubuntu.

Windows or Linux?
Posted by WolfManz611 on Friday, September 2 2005
Without starting a big flame war here i want to go over the basics of the question of if a user should switch to Linux if that user is currently running a Windows machine. My answer to that is it depends on the user and what that user uses their machine for. First of all if you are using Windows and you have applications on there that you know will not be on Linux and you have to use these applications then i would say no your stuck with windows. However if your applications you run all the time have a Linux equivalent and your not tied to windows then switch and try Linux or get a Linux Live CD and try one of those out then switch if you like it.

Old Computer = State of the art firewall / Router..
Posted by WolfManz611 on Friday, September 2 2005
I have to say Linux impresses me in more ways then any operating system i have seen to date. One of the things thats really blows my mind is what can be done with it. Take for example this article that I'm doing on firewalls. Would you believe me if i told you . you could take one of your old pentium or amd cpu based machines and turn it into a high tech firewall / router? Well you can and trust me when you see these two products I'm referring to you will be impressed.
